Myer's Flaw was attacked by fighters on its bombrun, setting on fire, left formation and the most of the crew bailed out before the B-17 crashed between Niederlehme and Wernsdorf. One report puts the crash site as 1100 Yards East an other 3 Miles North East of Forest Krummenluch at about 13:10 hours, six miles South West of Ekner. Lt Haushalter was killed due to parachute failure and his body was found in the Horst-Wessel Street at Zernsdorf, this was about 4 miles of the crashsite.
